Bow Chat
Connect a WhatsApp number, add your team, and manage customer conversations, Customer Rooms, and integrations from one shared workspace.
What Bow Chat does
Bow Chat gives your team one shared workspace for customer conversations. Connect a channel, give each teammate their own login, and keep ownership, replies, notes, and history together.
Three things to keep separate
| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Your organisation's Bow Chat account |
| User | A named login for one team member |
| Inbox | One connected WhatsApp number or other channel |
Adding a user gives someone a Bow Chat login. It does not connect their WhatsApp — that is a separate step. One connected WhatsApp number creates one inbox.
Connect a WhatsApp number
- Open Settings -> Inboxes -> Add inbox.
- Select the channel you are connecting.
- For WhatsApp Web, scan the QR code from the WhatsApp account you want to bring in.
- Wait for sync, then confirm the expected chats and groups appear.
If a conversation does not appear immediately, refresh after sync and set the status filter to All. A saved filter can hide a conversation even when the connection is working.
Before sending through a linked WhatsApp Web number, read Safe use of a WhatsApp Web connection.
Add a team member
- Open Settings -> Agents.
- Invite the teammate by email.
- Choose their role and inbox access.
Give every person their own login. This preserves the record of who replied or changed a setting and keeps access revocable.
Integrate another system
The Bow Chat API can resolve contacts, create or reuse conversations, send channel-appropriate messages, and return delivery events to your system. Start with the Integration API.
Choose the channel by the job
Use Bow Chat channels to compare the WhatsApp Business Platform, a linked WhatsApp Web number, and Customer Rooms. For long-running service relationships, Customer Rooms gives each customer one private, branded place for messages, documents, status, and the next action.
